Local Events


There is some great diving right in our own backyard of New England. Once you move out of long island sound towards Rhode Island or Massachusetts the water clears right up. We utilize a variety of open water locations from oceans to lakes and quarries. New England Dive also hosts group events throughout the summer. These events are to introduce the dive site to you for future dives. We will also be glad to get you a dive buddy if you are in need.

New England Dive is attempting to put together an aggressive boat diving schedule for the 2009 dive season. When diving off the boat you'll get better offshore visibility as well as seeing some exciting shipwrecks.

Long Island Sound is littered with sunken vessels from all types. Our Dive charters run throughout the summer to let divers admire these beauties in their final resting place. We will post charter dates and destinations aboard the Thunderfish with Captain William Palmer. These dive charters will range in depths form 20-120 ft. Space will be limited to 6 passengers per dive so we advise to sign up early.

Currently we booked every Saturday throughout the entire summer aboard the Thunderfish. This is a 6 pack boat meaning it holds 6 divers plus one mate. Dive shops are hesitant to book whole charter like this because we need to fill the boat or else we get stuck paying for the extra spots. We need your help to pre-book thi spring to assure we fill these spots and can continue to offer great dive trips for your pleasure.

All dive charters will be 2-tank dives meaning we dive once do a surface interval and dive again. The fee for the charter is $100 + tip for the mate.

Captain William Palmer also produces a variety of DVD's telling the tales of various shipwrecks along the east coast. We have them all in stock at New England Dive for $19.95 each.

Dutch Springs Trip

Dutch Springs is a 50-acre lake, with attractions at depths up to 100 feet. It is spring-fed from an underground aquifer that filters through limestone to provide excellent visibility. Explore underwater platforms, submerged vehicles, aircraft and other unusual sites. We'll be running 2 trips down this summer in which we'll drive down and back in one day. Overnight camping or hotels are available if desired.
